This paper provides chemical, physical and bacteriological data obtained in Elbasan area, located in Central Albania. This study enabled us to provide sufficient data on physico-chemical and bacteriological parameters and to judge on soil pollution for the Elbasan city in order to present a current assessment of soil pollution as a factor of particular importance affecting citizens’ health, based mainly on the cultivation of agricultural crops. For this purpose, many soil samples were taken during 2020, mainly in the area where the heavy industries of Elbasani town develop their activity. Physicochemical and bacterial data on soil pollution in Elbasan area also for the analyzed period are provided for the first time. We emphasize the indisputable fact that Elbasan has always been valued over the years as one of the most polluted Albanian cities, where among the main causes are light and heavy industries that operate without applying the rules of environmental protection. Soil pollution is mainly due to pollution caused by human hands in agriculture mainly in the indiscriminate use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers and above all from industrial activity.
